Skyrocket Your Blog
You are disappointed.
Because lately you have been putting in a lot of time and hard work into your blog, but you can`t see any progress.
You are dreading every morning when you are checking the traffic to your website…
…because you know that Google Analytics will shove the zero visitors count in your face, like a clown slapping a cake in the face of another clown.
And to be quite honest, you feel like a clown-a sad clown.
The thing is, that deep down inside, you know that…
doing the same stuff over and over again, while expecting a different results, is what Albert Einstein defined as insanity.
But what’s even worse…
is that you start doubting yourself. You start to question if you really have what it takes to build a successful blog.
Sounds familiar? No worries, I’ve been there, too.
Relax. Breathe. I got your back.
Let me introduce you to how to skyrocket your blog by networking with influencers.
Why Your Blog Is A Ghost Town
You are probably clueless about why you have no traffic to your blog.
Because you think that your content is the bomb, right?
When you were about to publish your first blog post, you were probably imagining Opera interviewing you on her show.
Heck, you were probably even wondering about how much it would cost to hire a body guard, since you would be stalked by paparazzi’s and raving fans.
The harsh reality is that, if you continue with your no results, you will never need to worry about any of those things.
Why do you think that your blog has no traffic?
If you said that no one knows that your blog exists, a high five to you. *SLAP*
What do you need to do in order to get traffic?
Yes, you have to tell people about your blog.
Starting a blog is very similar to starting a small brick-and-mortar business. When you have opened your store, you need to get people to your store.
Let me reveal to you one of…
The Easiest Ways To Get Traffic
If I told you that I would give you $100 for each unique visitor you could get to your blog within the next 24 hours, what would you do?
Note: The $100 part above is just an example. Neither Skip nor I will be giving you money for every unique visitor you get. But you knew that, right?
You would probably promote your blog like craaazy, like your life was depending on it.
You would post it on all your social media channels.
You would call your family and closest friends.
You would text message all your contacts.
All the activities above are great.
However, the best way to get traffic is to get other people to send you qualified traffic.
Say what, Tor?
Not all traffic is good.
If you are blogging about how to cook cheap junk food from your kitchen (weird example, I know), people who are interested in training and eating healthy probably won`t be a good match.
You want people who are already interested in your niche and topic to visit your website. Hence, the term qualified traffic.
So what if you could get other people who already have a lot of traffic to promote your blog post?
How cool would that be?
Pretty cool.
Two of the influencers I know have a combined following on Twitter of over one million followers (yes, you read correctly.)
If I write an awesome blog post that is a good match for their audience, they will share it, if I ask them.
How To Network With The Big Dogs
First you have to realize that influencers online are just normal people, like you and me, besides being a very influential person within their niche.
So how do you connect with them?
Like you would to with people in real life: be polite and pleasant.
Always focus on giving them value first, without expecting anything in return.
Very few people do that. And since influencers get a ton of requests from people every day who want something from them, you will immediately stand out.
Let me show you how I connected with the successful entrepreneur and podcaster John Lee Dumas from Entrepreneur On Fire.
Step 1: I invited John to join my first roundup post, 80 Productivity From Incredibly Busy Experts, which generated 20,231 page views in 6 days, 1500+ social share and 82 comments.
When the post got published, I asked him to share it, and he did.
He also commented on my post:
I replied:
Step 2: I shared a blog post that John was mentioned in on Twitter:
Step 3: I invited John to join my second roundup post, 117 Tips On How To Set Goals From Successful Entrepreneurs, which also generated a lot of traffic, social share and comments.
When the post got published, he shared and commented again.
Step 4: John asked me to write a review about his podcast on iTunes or Stitcher:
What did I do?
I wrote a review on both iTunes and Stitcher.
John really liked that:
In addition, my connection with John has led to some really awesome things.
John wrote a testimonial for the new “blogger outreach course” I am creating:
How awesome is that?
I know what you probably are thinking: “Tor, I get that connecting with influencers is important. But, does it really help you to skyrocket your blog?”
A good question indeed.
Judge for yourself.
