Stillness and Peace
Do you ever feel stressed out and anxious? Most of us have times in our life when that stress turns into near-constant worry. Whether from finances, health, or even from a friendship gone wrong, there are many reasons that our peace is replaced with fear.
Once it starts, it seems to replicate and we need to do something to stop it from getting out of control.
My personality is action-oriented. I’d rather take a longer route and keep moving than a shorter one where I am stuck in traffic.
But there are times when action isn’t the best option, when stillness is exactly what’s required.
Be Still
“Be still and know that I am God.”
It’s one of the sayings in the Bible that says a lot in eight words. “Be” doesn’t mince words or beat around the bush. It is a command to be still.

I love how this verse links stillness to letting things go. “Let go and let God” is the other saying that people use.
For me it is a reminder to breathe, to let things be, and to realize I’m not always able to do everything. There are times when it’s simply better to be still, which admittedly is not a personality trait that I have in abundance!
