The Podcast with Purpose
For many years, friends have encouraged me to start a podcast. It seemed interesting, but I was just too busy. Periodically, the idea would push to the front of my mind only to have me sweep it back into the deep recesses of my thoughts. The seed was ready but I simply wouldn’t let it take root.
But it wouldn’t go away.
Too many people would bring it up again and again.
Many of you would write in asking for it directly explaining that you liked to listen on the way to work. You wanted ideas, inspiration, and insights on a podcast.
At first, I was a bit taken aback by the directness of these requests, but I listened. It watered the seed that had been planted.
Fertilizing it was my sister, who loves to learn by listening.
On and on it went until the idea burst through the ground.
Introducing Aim Higher
And now I’m excited to announce my new podcast, Aim Higher. It’s designed to inspire and equip individuals and organizations to aim higher.
Aim Higher is like a sprout just poking through the freshly-tilled dirt. It needs you now to help it grow. That means that if you want it to grow, help us by listening, by rating the show, by sharing it with others.
I believe that ALL of us have the ability to look at where we are now….and aim higher.
That means your business can be much bigger. Your bank account can have more digits than you think possible. Your career could take wings. Your team could score more wins. But success isn’t material things. You can aim higher in everything you do – your spiritual life, your physical capacity. Anything and everything will be better if you aim higher.
When I was a teenager I heard this poem by Jessie B. Rittenhouse.
“I bargained with Life for a penny,
And Life would pay no more,
However I begged at evening
When I counted my scanty store.
For Life is a just employer,
He gives you what you ask,
But once you have set the wages,
Why, you must bear the task.
I worked for a menial’s hire,
Only to learn, dismayed,
That any wage I had asked of Life,
Life would have willingly paid.”
It’s my hope that this podcast will help you restart the engines of your dream, to help you aim higher. We’ll talk to people who will inspire you to reimagine what’s possible.
